Northern Ontario is famous for big trophy Smallmouth Bass. We have good Smallmouth fishing in Five Mile Lake. They are found off rocky points, shoals, reeds and islands.
Although Smallmouth Bass are not the dominant species in the lake, we do have a healthy population and they can provide a full day of fishing fun if you go after them. They are generally around 2 pounds but a fair number of 3 and 4 pounders are caught. There is other lake nearby that also has good Smallmouth Bass if a full day of bass fishing is your pleasure.
